My design rate is $65/hour. I require a non-refundable deposit before we get started, and this deposit will go towards your final bill in the end. Your final payment will be due in order to receive your final artwork.
In some cases, I am able to give a custom quote. Your custom quote will be based on an estimation of time and effort needed for your individual project depending on the creative brief that you fill out, and/or the 1-on-1 conversation that we have beforehand. Because it's impossible to know exactly how long a project will take, I always add at least 2 hours to the estimate for custom quotes. In most cases, the client saves money by staying with the hourly rate system. Please note that I'll never give an estimate during our first conversation as there are too many factors that affect the amount.
Factors that affect your custom project quotes are:
The product(s) that you need to be designed. Items that are used multiple times (logo), seen by many eyes (billboard), complex in structure (website), etc. require more time, and therefore are more costly.
The deadlines that you require. If your project needs to done faster than I would expect the project to normally take, a rush charge will be applied.
The surface area (for applicable items). For example, a full page double sided flyer is going to cost more than a 4x6 postcard. Just as a 4-page booklet won’t cost as much as a 12-page booklet.
If you are a non-profit organization. I give a 20% discount for non-profit organizations (I’ll need to see your legal documentation such as your 5013c letter from the IRS).
Once your design is finished, approved, finalized, and delivered, the quote for that project is reset. Meaning, if you have revisions after the design is delivered, new charges at the rate of $65/hr will be applied.
